What a gorgeous day! I left the house at 11:30, headed for the gym, wearing a long-sleeved tee shirt and an outer shirt. The jacket I was carrying promptly went into the back seat with the gym bag. After an intense, heavy-duty leg workout, I emerged from the gym at 3 o'clock to find a warm wind blowing and weather in the 60 degree range. Ron and I then grabbed a light bite to eat and caught an early showing of JUMPER. When the movie ended and we came back outside at 6 o'clock, it was still warm and breezy.
I could use a few more days like this! Seasonal Affective Disorder - begone!
Wait, in KC as in Kansas City? Because I'll be traveling to Kansas City for a weeklong "job" this June and I could use some advice on a really good place to eat. Some place close to the convention center.
The Bartle Hall Convention Center? There are a number of good downtown restaurants now and, with the opening of the new Sprint Arena, even more are likely soon. At what hotel are you staying?

I'm not sure what convention center we're using. All the form says is "Kansas City, MO Convention Center". And we don't know what hotel we may be in yet, but it will be near, if not attached to, the convention center. Within walking distance of the center at least.
I'll be there to grade the AP Calculus exams that the high school students take. 8 days of grading, all day long. We'll need good restaurants and good bars to make it bearable. *grin*
Also, a local bookstore might be good, since perhaps I can arrange a signing for one of the nights I'll be there. I can research this on my own of course. But the restaurant . . . it's always good to have a local point out what's good. We can also travel to the restaurant on one of the nights.
Depending on how close you are, perhaps you can join us? You're more than welcome.
When is this taking place, Joshua? I'm always in favor of food and drinks and meeting new people. There aren't any bookstores in the downtown core area around Bartle, but there is a Barnes & Noble on the Plaza at 47th street, which isn't that far away.
Ok, first, the grading session is scheduled for June 8-16 (arrive on the 8th and leave on the 16th).
And I found out that I'll be staying in one of the following hotels: Alladin Hotel, Crowne Plaza Downtown, Hyatt Regency Crown Center, Marriott Downtown, Hilton President (doubt it), Westin Crown Center. I won't know which one until I get there actually.
I'll look into the B&N. I should at least try to swing by and sign stock. *grin*
